"We sponsor the talent and the hard work which goes with accomplishment and this Competition offers these young musicians an opportunity to display their effort and their talent". With these words, Mr. Roberto Rodríguez Orro, General Manager of Ibercisa Deck Machinery referred to the company's sponsorship of the 4th City of Vigo Violin and Cello Competition. Signature of an agreement between A.G.I.C. the Galician Association of String Instruments and Ibercisa Deck Machinery took place at the company headquarters in the presence of Elizabeth Taylor, President of AGIC, Ernesto Regueira and Roberto Ucha, Secretary and Treasurer of the Association respectively. Elizabeth Taylor praised the Company for their support emphasising that Ibercisa is "a company that is committed to its origins, to Vigo, and to the pursuit of excellence. In this sense, the President of AGIC, defended the implication of industry with social and cultural activities, the company's corporate responsibility with society and its support of this competition, now in its 4th year and fast becoming one of the most important fixtures on the Ibercian calendar of musical events for students of string instruments in Spain and Portugal is a clear example of this. This 4th edition of the City of Vigo Violin and Cello Competition, organized by the Galician Association of String Instruments (AGIC) in collaboration with of the Town Council and Ibercisa Deck Machinery, will be held from the 4th - 6th December in Vigo in the Musical Conservatory in the Castro. Students come from all over Spain and Portugal and the Jury is Presided over by Maximino Zumalave, Associate Conductor of the Royal Galician Philharmonic Orchestra.
