The Company which designs and manufactures naval machinery, with headquarters in Vigo since 1969 and with a considerable export activity and an international profile and projection will open its doors in a bid to teach students from this educational centre and future fishing sector employees, about the latest advances in deck machinery technology. The visits will be repeated with students from the same center and other specialties as well as from other technical centers and universities.
Ibercisa Deck Machinery employs highly qualified technical engineers and designers of mechanical, hydraulic and electric machinery and develops its own technology hand in hand with its clients. Among which certain international companies stand out such as Svitzer, Vale Rio Doce, Fishermen's Finest, McDermott International, Inc., Fairplay, Parlevlient and world renowned shipyards such as Armón, Damen, Karstensens, Sefine, Uzmar and Tersan among others. The company works with finite software elements, fatigue control software and real trials which are carried out in its factory. It also controls the whole manufacturing process, allowing it to carry out product measurement with performance adapted to individual customer requirements.
The students visiting are from the Fishing Captains faculty and they have seen at first hand, and in situ, the whole process of design and manufacture of machinery and how it works and operates on board; this last phase by a film showing one of the most modern boats of the European fleet "Ruth", a pelagic trawler supplied with Ibercisa deck machinery.
Apart from the fishing sector, Ibercisa Deck Machinery designs and manufactures deck equipment for tug boats, AHT vessels, oceanographics, merchant vessels, Navy boats and has taken part in various civil engineering projects.
