This week Mr. Ole Nattestad, co-owner with Gulak of the Company Rederiet Ruth, as well as the owner of the new vessel Ruth One and one of Denmarks most outstanding ship owners, as well as an important client for Ibercisa, Mr. Kent Damgaard, from Karstensens Shipyard ( world leaders in the construction of pelagic vessels, with 60% of that market), and Mr. Jens Eril Hlost Jensen, consultant to the owner, all visited our factories and installations this week. They were present at the first delivery of the main and purse seine winches for the vessel Ruth. This vessel, which is 86m in length, is fitted with three main trawl winches, two purse seiners and 4 net drums of 34 and 40 cubic metres respectively, making it the first multi purpose pelagic vessel in the world. The order includes a total of 27 electric winches driven by variable frequencies and with AFE energy return system. The northern European fishing fleet is definitely gearing up towards electric drive.
