Energy saving  and efficiency are the two pillars upon which Ibercisa Deck Machinery has based its research over the last few years.  The Company has been developing and improving a remote control system which allows solution of problems arising at sea, from a distance, either for operation of machinery supplied by the Company or to adjust the system. For this the vessel must have an integrated PC and internet connection.

Trawler vessels and oceanographic boats, with a large number of winches on board benefit most from this remote system. In the last year, over 300 remote servicings have been carried out, focused on training or modification to improve the operation of the machinery, permitting considerable savings in travel costs as well as loss of fishing days. This system is particularly important in the first  years whilst the crew is still learning how to operate the machinery.

The Vigo based Company has an important background in the design and supply of electrically driven machinery and is continuing its innovation in collaboration with its great associate SIEMENS.  On this occasion, the project will generate important feedback for both companies and will concentrate on the integration of propulsion systems and the design of electrical power centres onboard which will give a more efficient distribution of energy, generating important savings in space and energy consumption.  This project of collaboration is already underway.
