The year is coming to an end and its time to weigh things up. Looking back over this atypical year which began with an agenda full of goals and objectives, come March, the agenda was outdated. We had to look at life from a completely different stand point.
We became more supportive, more responsible and more communicative. We had to distance physically but we remained close. We changed our offices in Muiños for improvised offices in our homes and the virus which had separated us brought us closer to you all.
The cold video-conference came into our homes and instantly transformed into easier conversation, less formal and more friendly with the odd sound of children laughing in the background.
Our team of Skippers Mates and remote technical assistants worked intensively from their homes, connecting to our clients machinery and with the help of our Service Partners distributed over 5 continents, starting up new machines or updating others, teaching crews, carrying out preventive maintenance or resolving incidents by remote control.
We learnt first hand, through our technical services in Brazil, Namibia, Singapore, Australia, Norway, Russia, China, Denmark, the Faroe Isles, Iceland, India among others, how the health crisis was affecting people around the world.
And we learnt that unity is possible, that we live in even more liquid times than those predicted by Zygmunt Bauman and that our future depends on our actions. It awaits us after the crisis and this future will be built up together. We will continue to work intensely for it to be thus.
From us all at Ibercisa Deck Machinery,
Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous 2021.
