An important delegation of owners from the Faroe islands came to see the Ibercisa Deck Machinery factory in a commercial visit organized by KSS, commercial agent for the Company in northern Europe. The visit responds to the owners interest in electrically driven systems designed by Ibercisa Deck Machinery which give considerable savings in exploitation costs for vessels apart from being more environmentally friendly.
Some of these owners are considering building new pair trawlers and perhaps in the near future after 2018, some new pelagic vessels, says Ramón Carreira, Board Member of Ibercisa. The owners are keeping an eye on the performance of the Danish vessels Ruth and Beinur, both have been built with the latest technology and for which Ibercisa Deck Machinery has supplied a total of 27 electrical winches with built in frequency converters and AFE system with energy return. During their visit to the Company they were particularly interested in seeing the fishing winches and manufacturing processes from conception in the technical department through to final production.
Ibercisa enjoys a high share of the market quota for northern Europe having supplied much of its marine deck machinery, of both hydraulic and electrical drive to fishing vessels in Iceland, Denmark, Holland, Russia, Norway and the Faroe islands.
