Javier Aguilera, Managing Director of IGAPE (the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion) visited the Ibercisa factory in order to see at first hand the progress of projects developed within the framework of the Xunta de Galicia’s Re-Acciona programme as well as to see current projects and the investment and works undertaken by the company itself to improve its infrastructures. Mr. Aguilera was welcomed to the company headquarters by Ibercisa Managing Director Mr. Roberto Rodriguez Orro and shown around all the different departments where he could watch the different stages of development of all the naval deck machinery from initial design through to production.
After the visit Mr. Aguilera participated in a meeting which included Mr. Ramón Carreira Pérez ,Director of business development and new business; Mr. Miguel Conde Torrente; Financial Director and Mr. Angel Javier Fernandez Romano, Project Manager por Operations Manager. Mr. Aguilera offered the Company new financing opportunities, both within the Re-Acciona Programme as well as alternative credit lines to enable the Company to meet goals established within its strategic business plan. Ibercisa has evaluated the meeting as a positive advance within the new call for proposals from Re-acciona, which in its last edition in 2015, enabled it to optimize production systems and bring in engineers who were later employed by the Company.
Mr. Javier Aguilera pointed out to the Company that it was necessary for Galician Industries to continue to work in a global environment and that diversification of products and services is fundamental in the present economic climate. Ibercisa, with an outstanding volume of activity in international markets – 92% - continues to work in foreign markets as a chosen objective for growth, the Company also supports Mr. Aguilera’s concept regarding the challenge facing the Galician industry in terms of naval sector associations, a crucial aspect of meeting objectives in international markets. Ibercisa is a member of Asime, Aclunaga and the Foro Marítimo Vasco.
IGAPE took advantage of the meeting to inform Ibercisa about the working agenda developed by the Galician Government called “Industria 4.0”, and within which Ibercisa has been working in recent years. In this sense, the Company has improved its connectivity and has implemented improvements in its Lean Facturing system. The deck machinery company is also working on new projects for investment directed at increasing its capacity and competitiveness.
