Ibercisa signed a contract with Knut Inge and Henrik Ostervold, owners from Bergen, Norway, during their visit to Norshipping, for the supply of deck machinery onboard the new pelagic boat to be built at the Bangladeshi shipyard Western Marine. The contract was signed thanks to the efforts of Ibercisa's agents for the Faroes and northern european countries KSS.
"Ostervold" is a new 82m pelagic boat for owners Knut Inge Ostervold and Henrik Ostervold and designed by the technical office Sawicon of Bergen. Ibercisa Deck Machinery will design, manufacture and install 15 electric winches, trawl winches, auxilliaries, net drums, purse seiners, net sounder etc., with their respective control panels and automatic trawl system Scantrol. As a newcomer to the package, apart from electric drive, both the main trawl winches and the net drums will be driven by double motor as an extra security precaution and giving better dynamism. This double motor drive uses a gearbox designed, manufactured and supplied by Ibercisa with hardened and ground gears.
The pelagic net drums are of the most powerful on the market with a capacity of 150 tns line pull at 96 m/min on the first layer, and especially ideal for fishing Blue Whiting which in the first months of the year is a complicated fishery for vessels to deal with due to the conditions of the sea.
"It is a very important project because it begins a process of renovation for the pelagic fleet in the charismatic area of Bergen, Norway where this fleet has its base", says Ramòn Carreira, Director of Business Development at Ibercisa Deck Machinery. As a result, this signing opens an important segment of the market in Norway to the Vigo Company, where Ibercisa's presence is already known throughout the freezer trawler fleet.
On the subject of pelagic boats, Ibercisa Deck Machinery has designed, manufactured and supplied the deck gear for the Ruth and Beinur, two modern pelagic trawlers, for their Danish owners, here also winches are electrically driven.
